Calaveras River Farms Tallow Body Butter is a whole-skin tallow balm. Our whipped body butter melts into the skin leaving it soft & supple. We offer our tallow body butter in 3 size variations: 2 oz, 4 oz, or 8 oz amber glass jar.
Our grass fed whipped tallow is made from grassfed and finished tallow that comes directly from our small farm. Our animals live their entire lives ethically on pasture, grazing on grass year around eating their native diets making this tallow extremely nutritious all over. Whipped tallow is a very hydrating and nourishing butter.
We run a USDA Certified Grass-Fed, Grass Finished Beef operation that can be found on the USDA website. (Certificate No: GF2056JBA) We are one of two certified producers in the state of California and one of fifty-five in the United States. Our tallow is rendered at a low temperature and triple strained for purity. After processing our tallow has a consistency similar to butter. We do not use any products to whiten our tallow or deodorize it; it is 100% pure tallow.
We do not deodorize our tallow or bleach it, therefore it can have a slight beef scent. Grass-fed beef has yellow fat due to higher concentrations of beta-carotenes and thus our tallow will be more yellow in color.

Due to the nature of the whipped tallow balm, it can melt when exposed to extreme heat. To combat this, during the summer months we add more of our organic beeswax from our ranch to help keep the whipped tallow balm solid during shipping.

This balm is full of natural fats and minerals. We source our tallow directly from our USDA certified Grass-Fed and Finished farm. It is not fractionated, meaning that each ingredient is in its whole form. We do not use any products to whiten our tallow or deodorize it; it is 100% pure grass-fed beef tallow. Please keep this in mind when choosing the unscented variety. Pure tallow does have a noticeable scent, as do most animals fats, and will vary from one batch to the other.
Tallow is extremely nutritional and packed with vitamins, minerals and choline that skin loves.
